Last year, iOS 12 launched compatible with all devices that support iOS 11 due mainly to improving performance on older devices. However, this 13-year iOS version will be completely different.
According to Neowin , notes from the French iPhoneSoft site show a list of iOS devices that do not support iOS 13 version , and if so, it is not good news for many users.
Specifically, the report shows that iPhone 5s, SE, 6, 6 Plus, iPad mini 2 and iPad Air will not be updated to iOS 13. That means that supported iOS devices will include iPhone 6s and above and iPad Air 2 and above, iPad 5 and above and iPad mini 3 and above.
Basically, the discontinued iPhone range includes products using A7 chips (in iPhone 5s), A8 (in iPhone 6) and A9 in iPhone SE (not including iPhone 6s and 6s Plus). For the iPad, it’s quite interesting that both the iPad Air and the iPad mini 2 have the A7 chip, which is also used on the iPad mini 3 that Apple allows to update to iOS 13. Not only that, iPad mini 3 is almost similar. Its self-predecessor except support for adding Touch ID.
Of course everything is still in the rumor stage, so details about the plan to support iOS 13 will be screened at WWDC 2019, taking place in early June.
